Description
TravertinoÂ
With Travertino, a decorative lime plaster – due to it’s grit size and excellent natural binders – you can easily achieve a variety of looks from slightly worn through porous, to smooth, pitted, dragged, slate or stone cladding-like. Furthermore, you’ll see that this Italian plaster is extremely suitable for contemporary (slightly or heavily) textured, cement or concrete features.
Travertino is probably most recognised Italian term in the world of decor and derives its name from the name of a Roman village, Tibur. You can use this Italian plaster for interior and exterior walls and ceilings, as it’s water permeable (breathable), resistant to algae, mould and is completely natural.
Finally, you can further enhance the look (create an aged, coloured or veined look) of this plaster with colour washes like our Samba, or Lime Eco.
How to apply Travertino Italian plaster
Apply Unifix primer before the plaster to ensure durability and adhesion. After the primer is dry, apply Travertino on as many coats as needed. Once the plaster is completely dry you will need to protect the plaster with Impera Wax. Apply Travertino with a Venetian plastering trowel, use a smaller one for the final coat and a larger for the first.
